The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Olívio de Lara to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Olívio de Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kléberson Cavalcante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gugu Couto's late challenge caught a Arsenal - PE's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gugu Couto helped the player get up and apologised. In the 57th minute, Marcus Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The corner ended in Merdin Bellamy almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Arsenal - PE's Renato Cerezo did a great save. In the 62nd minute of the match, Marcus Costa tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Kléberson Cavalcante saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of Arsenal - PE booed when A.E. ARAÇATUBA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo José de Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kléberson Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olívio de Lara in the 63rd minute of play.
