The throw-in from Paulinho Mazza in the 7th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Shamans FC's Gary Speed. Kléberson Cavalcante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlinhos Aguiar in the 8th minute of the match. The supporters of Shamans FC booed when A.E. ARAÇATUBA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiaguinho Zonta didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Kléberson Cavalcante managed to avoid a goal in the 23rdth minute, when Shamans FC's Júlio Linhares fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Shamans FC's Carlinhos Aguiar got a free kick in the 24th minute. If Júlio Linhares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kléberson Cavalcante came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Shamans FC's Júlio Linhares. But to his dismay, Júlio Linhares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Carlinhos Aguiar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kléberson Cavalcante having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiaguinho Zonta in the 46th minute of play forced Shamans FC's goalkeeper Zeca Matorin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 47 played minutes Shamans FC got a freekick which was hit by Amadeu Xavier. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlinhos Aguiar to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to A.E. ARAÇATUBA getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Paulinho Mazza hit a great ball. Gary Speed made in the 74th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Júlio Linhares immediately put the ball in play. After 85 played minutes Shamans FC got a freekick which was hit by Paulão Macedo. When Tiaguinho Zonta came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the A.E. ARAÇATUBA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tiaguinho Zonta couldn't finish the play. After 91 played minutes A.E. ARAÇATUBA got a freekick which was hit by Narciso Sergipano. Kléberson Cavalcante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlinhos Aguiar, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. There was no doubt that Shamans FC were the better team. Shamans FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
