William Fontes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamim Bueno in the 14th minute of the match. In the 16th minute, Luís Guilherme Maia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dorian Romero charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dorian Romero the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 22nd match minute, Pirates F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorian Romero to maneuver through the defense. Cleiton Velasco charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. William Fontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cleiton Velasco in the 28th minute of play. After 32 played minutes, Pirates F.C's Wanderson Pombal shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Beto Nunes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pirates F.C reached it. If Cleiton Velasco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cleiton Velasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 39th minute, André Luiz Vaz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Clube Náutico Capibaribe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. After having played for 45 minutes, Benjamim Bueno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clube Náutico Capibaribe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benjamim Bueno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dorian Romero was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Pirates F.C's zone, Cleiton Velasco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. William Fontes came out of the goal and Cleiton Velasco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 55 played minutes Pirates F.C got a freekick which was hit by Cristian de Sena. Cleiton Velasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Benjamim Bueno managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clube Náutico Capibaribe's supporters rose to their feet, but Benjamim Bueno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. William Fontes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Clube Náutico Capibaribe's Cleiton Velasco got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 65th minute Cleiton Velasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Fontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benjamim Bueno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. William Fontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 72nd minute Benjamim Bueno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Fontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 78 in the game by Artur Linhares from a close distance when the talented Beto Nunes managed to make a qualified save. Clube Náutico Capibaribe's players were relieved. William Fontes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cleiton Velasco's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. William Fontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benjamim Bueno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Leonel de Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cleiton Velasco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. William Fontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. William Fontes came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Clube Náutico Capibaribe's Benjamim Bueno. But to his dismay, Benjamim Bueno quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Benjamim Bueno managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clube Náutico Capibaribe's supporters rose to their feet, but Benjamim Bueno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. William Fontes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Eriberto Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Clube Náutico Capibaribe fully deserved thier win.
