Jorginho Maranhense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kajetan Dzerwucki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the game, Feil Futebol Club's Nesor Rancel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jorginho Maranhense made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Walmyr Almeida put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Jorginho Maranhense. Nesor Rancel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Jorginho Maranhense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erik Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. José Paulo Monteiros short, quick shot in the 36thth minute got Giuseppe Ferraz to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Nesor Rancel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Tiago Arce fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Orlando Pirates's protests and gave Tiago Arce a yellow card for diving instead. After 43 played minutes Orlando Pirates got a freekick which was hit by Tiago Arce. The Orlando Pirates players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Feil Futebol Club were winning 1-2.

In the 54th minute, Feil Futebol Club's Nesor Rancel ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jorginho Maranhense. Jorginho Maranhense yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Nesor Rancel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Jorginho Maranhense made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, José Paulo Monteiro put it in 2-3 from a short distance just to the right of Giuseppe Ferraz. Kajetan Dzerwucki's late challenge caught a Orlando Pirates's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kajetan Dzerwucki helped the player get up and apologised. In the 80th minute, Erik Mendonça got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mauro Vidal hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. José Paulo Monteiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded.
