Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Thor F.C.'s Naldo Nascimento started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Marcelinho Paulista was a little too slow when Eliézer de Queiroz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 3rd minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 8th minute, Ancari's Eurico Sarmento seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Eurico Sarmento the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Ancari protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Eurico Sarmento had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Eurico Sarmento hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. In the 10th minute of the match, Tiago Custódio sent away a good long shot that could have become a goal, but Aníbal Donato showed an example of his skillful tending and made the save just under the crossbar. If Reynaldo de Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 13 minutes into the match, Thor F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Rony Abreu came free, but Marcelinho Paulista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rony Abreu in the 15th minute of play forced Thor F.C.'s goalkeeper Marcelinho Paulista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Thor F.C.'s Marcelinho Paulista got control of the ball when Reynaldo de Azevedo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Aníbal Donato made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diogo Linhares in the 19th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, Ancari's goal looked a bit too open when Percival Silveira came free, but Aníbal Donato reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Naldo Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute, Reynaldo de Azevedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marcelinho Paulista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reynaldo de Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 36 in the game by Reynaldo de Azevedo from a close distance when the talented Marcelinho Paulista managed to make a qualified save. Thor F.C.'s players were relieved. Christiano Quirino struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Marcelinho Paulista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ancari. In the 38th minute, Percival Silveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diogo Linhares in the 41st minute of play forced Ancari's goalkeeper Aníbal Donato to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aníbal Donato came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Thor F.C.'s Naldo Nascimento. But to his dismay, Naldo Nascimento quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Reynaldo de Azevedo was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Maicon Baiano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Thor F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. 56 minutes into the match, Ancari's goalkeeper Aníbal Donato had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Naldo Nascimento. Marcelinho Paulista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reynaldo de Azevedo in the 60th minute of the match. Diogo Linhares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aníbal Donato came out of the goal and Percival Silveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Naldo Nascimento took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aníbal Donato. Aníbal Donato dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Marcelinho Paulista didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rony Abreu went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score. After 90 played minutes Ancari got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Montenegro. Diogo Linhares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aníbal Donato having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Percival Silveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thor F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Percival Silveira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aníbal Donato breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
