But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnaldo Macedo couldn't finish the play. In the 14th minute, Sydney Neto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arnaldo Macedo in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilmar Camargo saved Piem from getting behind. Rony Pinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Téo Bezerra having to interfere. In the 22ndth minute of the game Rony Pinho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SantasticFC's Téo Bezerra was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Arnaldo Macedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gilmar Camargo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaldo Macedo in the 30th minute of play. In the 34th match minute, Piem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dinei Dracena to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 36th minute of the game. One of SantasticFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Piem:s goal. SantasticFC:s Téo Bezerra showed great skill when he stopped Sydney Neto:s penalty. Piem's Dinei Dracena pulled a muscle in his back after 39 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Léo Mota fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SantasticFC's protests and gave Léo Mota a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to SantasticFC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Léo Mota hit a great ball. In the 41st minute, Gerson Xavier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 42 played minutes SantasticFC got a freekick which was hit by Léo Mota. 43 minutes into the match, Piem's Sydney Neto broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Arnaldo Macedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Gilmar Camargo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Piem's supporters rose to their feet, but Gerson Xavier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Téo Bezerra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
