The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 minutes, José Augusto Valladares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Abrantes AD and the Cachinaoa EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Abrantes AD's Belmiro Quintal got a free kick in the 6th minute. Dadá Costa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Belmiro Quintal in the 8th minute. During the 15th minute of the match José Augusto Valladares completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave José Augusto Valladares a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 17th minute Belmiro Quintal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dadá Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 18 minutes, Cido Coelho made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Cachinaoa EC's Dadá Costa tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Hudson Mota showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Augusto Severo, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Belmiro Quintal during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Valério Varela charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Valério Varela the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 47th match minute, Abrantes AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valério Varela to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Belmiro Quintal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dadá Costa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. After 75 minutes, João Paulo Quirino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Abrantes AD and the Cachinaoa EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience was convinced that Belmiro Quintal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dadá Costa was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. The Abrantes AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Tadeu Brasil struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Dadá Costa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Abrantes AD. When Tadeu Brasil came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Abrantes AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tadeu Brasil couldn't finish the play. Tadeu Brasil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dadá Costa having to interfere. After 95 played minutes Abrantes AD got a freekick which was hit by Belmiro Quintal. Cido Coelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Dadá Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abrantes AD's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
