To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Barreto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cruz Gene, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Guaracy's Natã Costa got a free kick in the 22nd minute. In the 24th minute, Cruz Gene got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Róbson Velasco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Roberto Batista made a huge save. Laerte Vides received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Roberto Batista came out and tried to block the shot, but Laerte Vides slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 33rd minute.
