Rodolfo Brasil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nildo Macedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sílvio Luís Domingues could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Guilherme de Medeiros made a huge save. Jano Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Ailton Barrios took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rodolfo Brasil. Rodolfo Brasil dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After the first half Vai Dá Ruim were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nildo Macedo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 61st minute Sílvio Luís Domingues suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Sambaitiba's Ruy Mineiro was substituted for Sílvio Luís Domingues. Eusébio Ceresso hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Ailton Barrios struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Rodolfo Brasil didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vai Dá Ruim. Guilherme de Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruy Mineiro in the 73rd minute of play. Jano Santos struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Guilherme de Medeiros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sambaitiba. Sambaitiba's Pedro Luís Meireles managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by André Luiz Gomes in the 76 minute of the game. André Luiz Gomes kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Vai Dá Ruim defense, Leopoldo Faria kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Guilherme de Medeiros. The Vai Dá Ruim fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guilherme de Medeiros should have stopped the shot. Sambaitiba's Leopoldo Faria got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Ruy Mineiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Despite being the better team, Sambaitiba failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
