Guilherme de Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomé Mandrak, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Guilherme de Medeiros came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Sampaio Fc's Luiz Fabiano Viana. But to his dismay, Luiz Fabiano Viana quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Sampaio Fc's Manfredo Carneiro quite brazenly broke a throw-in by André Luiz Gomes, made in the 31st minute of the game. Conrado Neves shot the penalty kick right outside the post. 41 minutes into the game, one of Vai Dá Ruim:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Fabiano Viana stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Sampaio Fc's Luiz Fabiano Viana slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Guilherme de Medeiros. That made the score 0-4 after 52 minutes of play. In the 56th minute, Sampaio Fc's Luiz Fabiano Viana dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. In the 61st minute, Oktay Kara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Vai Dá Ruim's Guilherme de Medeiros got control of the ball when Luiz Fabiano Viana tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tomé Mandrak's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Guilherme de Medeiros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Luiz Fabiano Viana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sampaio Fc fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Conrado Neves took a quick shot and it went in 0-7 without a chance for Guilherme de Medeiros to make any attempt to save it. Téo Mello hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute, Tomé Mandrak ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Guilherme de Medeiros was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-8. César Furlan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ailton Barrios in the 94th minute of the match. César Furlan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nildo Macedo in the 96th minute of play. Sampaio Fc played a much better game than Vai Dá Ruim and deserved their victory. The Vai Dá Ruim players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
