Gugu Vianna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeferson Travassos in the 3rd minute of the match. Gugu Vianna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cícero da Mata, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gugu Vianna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agostinho Corrêa in the 6th minute of play. Serginho Vieira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Osvaldinho Tande in the 8th minute. After some careless play in the Blue Mountain State defense, Oscar Oliveira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Serginho Vieira. The Blue Mountain State fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Serginho Vieira should have stopped the shot. Jeferson Travassos struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Gugu Vianna didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Blue Mountain State. In the 17th minute Agostinho Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gugu Vianna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gugu Vianna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agostinho Corrêa, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After 20 minutes of play, Blue Mountain State's Agnaldo Batista made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gugu Vianna was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gugu Vianna came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Blue Mountain State's Agostinho Corrêa. But to his dismay, Agostinho Corrêa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Gugu Vianna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeferson Travassos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alessandro Mandrak during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ouricuri FC's Alessandro Mandrak got a free kick in the 29th minute. 30 minutes into the match, Jeferson Travassos notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Ouricuri FC's Gugu Vianna. Gugu Vianna was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Ouricuri FC booed when Blue Mountain State was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cícero da Mata didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 40 minutes, Cícero da Mata mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Blue Mountain State and the Ouricuri FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 40th minute, Cícero da Mata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cícero da Mata scored 1-4 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gugu Vianna, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Ouricuri FC defense, Agostinho Corrêa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gugu Vianna. The Ouricuri FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gugu Vianna should have stopped the shot. The Ouricuri FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Blue Mountain State were winning 1-5.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Osvaldinho Tande made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Blue Mountain State's Delfim Eger slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gugu Vianna. That made the score 1-6 after 55 minutes of play. Gugu Vianna made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cícero da Mata in the 62nd minute. Agnaldo Batista took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gugu Vianna. Gugu Vianna dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-7. In the 66th match minute, Blue Mountain State was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jailson Moreira to maneuver through the defense. If Agostinho Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Ouricuri FC's Gugu Vianna got control of the ball when Cícero da Mata tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gugu Vianna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agostinho Corrêa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agostinho Corrêa in the 79th minute of play forced Ouricuri FC's goalkeeper Gugu Vianna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cícero da Mata got free with Gugu Vianna in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gugu Vianna made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Agnaldo Batista sent off a good shot on target. Ouricuri FC's Gugu Vianna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agostinho Corrêa in the 83rd minute of play. Oscar Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serginho Vieira having to interfere. 87 minutes into the match, Ouricuri FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jeferson Travassos came free, but Gugu Vianna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th minute, Kauã Schmidt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Agnaldo Batista could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Gugu Vianna made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeferson Travassos in the 92nd minute of play forced Ouricuri FC's goalkeeper Gugu Vianna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cícero da Mata received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gugu Vianna came out and tried to block the shot, but Cícero da Mata slotted it home off the left post making it 1-8 in the 95th minute. When the final whistle sounded Blue Mountain State left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Ouricuri FC.
