The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jeferson Travassos hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. The audience held their breath when Jailson Moreira in the 22nd minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Gilberto Madeo's left hand side. In the 25th match minute, Star One Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Téo Santos to maneuver through the defense. Diego Erroman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Serginho Vieira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Blue Mountain State's Paulo Renato Miranda got a free kick in the 36th minute. 41 minutes into the game, Samuel Kruuse was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Star One Team's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Blue Mountain State the free kick. In the 41st minute, Samuel Kruuse hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Blue Mountain State's Paulo Renato Miranda shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 43rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Gilberto Madeo but with some difficulty. The supporters of Blue Mountain State booed when Star One Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Plachetka didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Diego Erroman made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Diego Erroman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Star One Team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diego Erroman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 58th minute, Tomás Sena made a precise shot to the right of Serginho Vieira. Blue Mountain State's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 61 minutes into the match, Tomás Sena notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Blue Mountain State's Serginho Vieira. Serginho Vieira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agostinho Corrêa in the 71st minute of play forced Star One Team's goalkeeper Gilberto Madeo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Serginho Vieira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Diego Erroman's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Blue Mountain State's Serginho Vieira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Erroman in the 87th minute of play. Diego Erroman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Serginho Vieira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Serginho Vieira was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Diego Erroman showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 98 minute of play. Star One Team's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
