Valeria S's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fábio Coelho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After 17 minutes of play, E.C. Água Santa's Carlos Casemiro made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlos Alberto da Costa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fábio Coelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Carlos Alberto da Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fábio Coelho in the 21st minute of play. Lenílson Bittencourt struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Carlos Alberto da Costa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for E.C. Água Santa. 24 minutes into the match, E.C. Água Santa's Fábio Coelho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carlos Alberto da Costa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fábio Coelho to make the kick off. Carlos Alberto da Costa was a little too slow when Fábio Coelho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 0-4. E.C. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Valeria S. 72 minutes into the match, Valeria S's goal looked a bit too open when Gualterio Gilabert came free, but Carlos Alberto da Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute Celso Viana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernandez Gøl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Valeria S's Carlos Alberto da Costa got control of the ball when Gualterio Gilabert tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gualterio Gilabert kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 88thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Valeria S's keeper Carlos Alberto da Costa was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. A hard shot 90 in the game by Gualterio Gilabert from a close distance when the talented Carlos Alberto da Costa managed to make a qualified save. Valeria S's players were relieved. In the 91st minute, E.C. Água Santa's Gualterio Gilabert ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Carlos Alberto da Costa. Carlos Alberto da Costa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-7. Carlos Alberto da Costa stood somewhat misplaced when Gualterio Gilabert came free in front of goal and shot 0-8 to the left of him in the 96 minute.
