After 3 played minutes Santiago FC got a freekick which was hit by Mauro de Sena. 4 minutes in the game Claudinei Pires did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Alfredinho Guerra. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carmelo Patxi got free with Valdomiro Seco in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Carmelo Patxi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Valdomiro Seco made a huge save. Dráusio Pernambucano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felippe de Barros having to interfere. Felippe de Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dráusio Pernambucano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st minute, PARTENON - RS's Jesus Christian ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Valdomiro Seco. Valdomiro Seco yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 26th minute Durval Vidal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdomiro Seco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the PARTENON - RS defense, André Luiz Cavalcante kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Felippe de Barros. The PARTENON - RS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Felippe de Barros should have stopped the shot. 32 minutes into the game, Durval Vidal recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Valdomiro Seco. Durval Vidal showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Valdomiro Seco was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jesus Christian showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 36 minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, PARTENON - RS's goal looked a bit too open when André Luiz Cavalcante came free, but Felippe de Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sandrinho Abraão kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Dráusio Pernambucano was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 46th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Toninho Alcântara during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carmelo Patxi was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Carmelo Patxi managed to get in a good position for a shot. PARTENON - RS's supporters rose to their feet, but Carmelo Patxi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdomiro Seco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Durval Vidal scored 4-1 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Valdomiro Seco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in PARTENON - RS's zone, André Luiz Cavalcante stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felippe de Barros came out of the goal and André Luiz Cavalcante tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to PARTENON - RS getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Jesus Christian hit a great ball. Felippe de Barros was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Dráusio Pernambucano. In the 66th minute Carmelo Patxi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdomiro Seco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, PARTENON - RS's goal looked a bit too open when Dráusio Pernambucano came free, but Felippe de Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match clock showed 71 minutes, the score became 4-2 when André Luiz Cavalcante sped through PARTENON - RS's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Felippe de Barros. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredinho Guerra in the 74th minute of play forced PARTENON - RS's goalkeeper Felippe de Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th minute, Carmelo Patxi made a precise shot to the right of Valdomiro Seco. Santiago FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-2. Felippe de Barros was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Dráusio Pernambucano. In the 84th minute, one of Santiago FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Santiago FC. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tommie Reitsma during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Valdomiro Seco came out of the goal and Durval Vidal tried to chip the ball over his head. Durval Vidal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Valdomiro Seco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valdomiro Seco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carmelo Patxi, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. PARTENON - RS fully deserved thier win.
