After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Lucas Carvalho managed to get in a good position for a shot. New City Caxias's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucas Carvalho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Quico Sánchez in the 26th minute of play forced New City Caxias's goalkeeper Tomé de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cacá Carioca who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of Tomé de Almeida when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 29 minutes into the match, Cacá Carioca had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tomé de Almeida. New City Caxias's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cacá Carioca was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Gernando de Almeida charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 47th minute, Gernando de Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cacá Carioca to make the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Göran Ekberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The referee showed Zé Carlos Baptista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. FIEL TUPÃ's Jean Penha was substituted for Cacá Carioca. After 65 played minutes New City Caxias got a freekick which was hit by Zé Carlos Baptista. 73 minutes into the match, FIEL TUPÃ's goalkeeper Geovanni Arruda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lucas Carvalho. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jean Penha in the 78th minute of play forced New City Caxias's goalkeeper Tomé de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. New City Caxias's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jean Penha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-1. If Birol Refet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95thth minute of the game Jean Penha who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but New City Caxias's Tomé de Almeida was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. FIEL TUPÃ had played much better football throughout.
