The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4thth minute of the game Manuel Vaz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Viéla F.C.'s Joachim Holmgren was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 4 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Manuel Vaz sped through Viéla F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Joachim Holmgren. When André Luís Paulista fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Viéla F.C.'s protests and gave André Luís Paulista a yellow card for diving instead. Eurico Pereira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ricardinho Netto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Cássio Custódio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Silvério Vale hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. After having played for 18 minutes, Eurico Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MOCAMBINHENSE SA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eurico Pereira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joachim Holmgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Vaz in the 19th minute of play. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Viéla F.C.'s goalie and right to Sílvio Luís de Souza. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Viéla F.C.'s manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Vaz in the 30th minute of play forced Viéla F.C.'s goalkeeper Joachim Holmgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 36 minutes Viéla F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fellipe Braga who took care of the corner kick. Manuel Vaz was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Joachim Holmgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eurico Pereira, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. After 39 played minutes Viéla F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Fabinho Ferreira. Viéla F.C.'s Joachim Holmgren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Viéla F.C. from getting a goal against them. In the 42nd minute of the match MOCAMBINHENSE SA got a corner. Viéla F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Fellipe Braga ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Fellipe Braga almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Viéla F.C.'s Joachim Holmgren did a great save. Sílvio Luís de Souza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Joachim Holmgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Silvério Vale to make the kick off. Manuel Vaz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joachim Holmgren having to make a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arthur de Lara in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joachim Holmgren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Viéla F.C.'s Válbson Miranda got a free kick in the 54th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manuel Vaz in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. In the 63rd minute Eurico Pereira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joachim Holmgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Manuel Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Silvério Vale kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cássio Custódio. That made the score 2-1 in the 71 minute of play. MOCAMBINHENSE SA's Manuel Vaz got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Arthur de Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silvério Vale's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cássio Custódio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Silvério Vale received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cássio Custódio came out and tried to block the shot, but Silvério Vale slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 80th minute. Joachim Holmgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Vaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ricardinho Netto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cássio Custódio was a little too slow when Silvério Vale got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 88th minute. The score was now 2-3. In the 90th minute, Silvério Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. MOCAMBINHENSE SA were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
