Tomé de Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wellington Salgado in the 21st minute of play. Laranjal FC's Emerson Matorin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gernando de Almeida in the 24th minute of play. Wellington Salgado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tomé de Almeida having to make a save. When Gernando de Almeida was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 30 minutes had been played. In the 30th minute, Gernando de Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wellington Salgado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomé de Almeida having to interfere. New City Caxias's Tomé de Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Paulo Berger in the 34th minute of play. With a little luck, Laranjal FC's Emerson Matorin got control of the ball when Lucas Carvalho tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 38th minute, Ricardo Soares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Laranjal FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 40th minute, when Ricardo Soares scored to the left of an out of position Emerson Matorin, making the score, 1-1. João Paulo Berger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Tomé de Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomé de Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wellington Salgado in the 48th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Wellington Salgado made the kick off in the second half. Lucas Carvalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Emerson Matorin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 54th minute, Wellington Salgado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 58th minute, João Paulo Berger left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Laranjal FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After having played for 67 minutes, Ricardo Soares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New City Caxias's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardo Soares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tomé de Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doni Salgado in the 69th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wellington Salgado in the 72nd minute of play forced New City Caxias's goalkeeper Tomé de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 72nd match minute, New City Caxias was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardo Soares to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, New City Caxias's Matheus Vale got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Laranjal FC's Doni Salgado got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 79 minutes into the match, New City Caxias's goalkeeper Tomé de Almeida had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wellington Salgado. Wellington Salgado who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 87thth minute tested the skills of Tomé de Almeida when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 88th minute, Cipriano Galvão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Lucas Carvalho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emerson Matorin was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. In the 94th minute, João Paulo Berger fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 96th minute, Ricardo Soares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Laranjal FC played a much better game than New City Caxias and deserved their victory. The New City Caxias players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
