An unexpectedly hard shot by Göran Ekberg in the 9th minute of play forced MOCAMBINHENSE SA's goalkeeper Cássio Custódio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manuel Vaz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Geovanni Arruda made a huge save. After 13 minutes, Manuel Vaz made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. FIEL TUPÃ's Geovanni Arruda tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. MOCAMBINHENSE SA's Cássio Custódio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Birol Refet in the 17th minute of play. FIEL TUPÃ's Cacá Carioca got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 22 minutes, Eurico Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MOCAMBINHENSE SA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eurico Pereira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Birol Refet took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cássio Custódio. Cássio Custódio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 30th minute Göran Ekberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cássio Custódio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cássio Custódio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Birol Refet's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. When MOCAMBINHENSE SA's Manuel Vaz in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Manuel Vaz made a kick off. Cássio Custódio had great luck who in the 51stth minute grab hold of the ball when Birol Refet from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Cássio Custódio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Göran Ekberg in the 52nd minute of the match. Göran Ekberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The nice shot from Cacá Carioca in the 56thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Cássio Custódio had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. When Eurico Pereira came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the MOCAMBINHENSE SA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eurico Pereira couldn't finish the play. Cássio Custódio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Quico Sánchez, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. 62 minutes into the game, Sílvio Luís de Souza was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MOCAMBINHENSE SA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FIEL TUPÃ the free kick. Cássio Custódio made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Göran Ekberg sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. MOCAMBINHENSE SA had won after a very even match.
