Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Enrique Moraes kicked off to start the match. The supporters of Papera booed when Volta Redonda F. Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldinho Dracena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sílvio Simões showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Teixeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. After 4 minutes, Enrique Moraes made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Papera's Zé Pedro Vaz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Enrique Moraes in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zé Pedro Vaz saved Papera from getting behind. In the 21stth minute of the game Enrique Moraes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Papera's Zé Pedro Vaz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 24 minutes, Enrique Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Volta Redonda F. Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Enrique Moraes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 25 minutes into the match, Vítor Carioca notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Papera's Zé Pedro Vaz. Zé Pedro Vaz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Zé Pedro Vaz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enrique Moraes in the 28th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edvaldo Braga during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Papera getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Edvaldo Braga hit a great ball. In the 36th minute, Ronaldinho Dracena made a precise shot to the right of Zé Pedro Vaz. Papera's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. After having played for 41 minutes, Albertinho Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After the first half Volta Redonda F. Clube were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emanuel Teixeira was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conrado de Amorim in the 52nd minute of play forced Volta Redonda F. Clube's goalkeeper Sílvio Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Albertinho Lima recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Enrique Moraes in the 61stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Zé Pedro Vaz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 75 minutes into the match, Papera's goalkeeper Zé Pedro Vaz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Enrique Moraes. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conrado de Amorim in the 77th minute of play forced Volta Redonda F. Clube's goalkeeper Sílvio Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zé Pedro Vaz made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Enrique Moraes sent off a good shot on target. Zé Pedro Vaz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Inácio Mandrak in the 82nd minute. Sílvio Simões took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco da Mata, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Enrique Moraes in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zé Pedro Vaz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 91st minute, Enrique Moraes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Volta Redonda F. Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. The audience thought a goal was coming when Enrique Moraes got free with Zé Pedro Vaz in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Volta Redonda F. Clube's Albertinho Lima got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Volta Redonda F. Clube's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
