Spectators: 5001 (Terracing: 4001, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Severo's Durvalino Pirani started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Itapua AD's Eriberto Campidelis got a good chance for a goal in the 2nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sydney Donatello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leandro Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Itapua AD's Sydney Donatello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Durvalino Pirani in the 6th minute of play. Júlio de Queirós took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sydney Donatello. Sydney Donatello dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Claudinho Tróia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Igor Cerezo in the 13th minute of play. Orlando Braga took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 22nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sydney Donatello. Itapua AD's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Júlio de Queirós notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Itapua AD's Sydney Donatello. Sydney Donatello was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 26th minute, Durvalino Pirani left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Severo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. In the 32nd minute, Aníbal Mendonça left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Itapua AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Severo's Claudinho Tróia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Severo from getting a goal against them. 42 minutes into the match, Severo's goal looked a bit too open when Wanderson Pena came free, but Claudinho Tróia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aníbal Mendonça in the 44th minute of play forced Severo's goalkeeper Claudinho Tróia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Severo's Claudinho Tróia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wanderson Pena in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wanderson Pena was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Leandro Moura got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sydney Donatello made an important save on a dangerous shot by Júlio de Queirós in the 56th minute. Sydney Donatello made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Júlio de Queirós sent off a good shot on target. After 66 minutes of play, Itapua AD's Eriberto Campidelis made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Claudinho Tróia was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Severo booed when Itapua AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wanderson Dracena didn't get a good kick on the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Itapua AD's goalkeeper Sydney Donatello had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Durvalino Pirani. Itapua AD's Sydney Donatello proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Itapua AD from getting a goal against them. In the 81st minute, Aníbal Mendonça left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Itapua AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. Eriberto Campidelis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Claudinho Tróia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Claudinho Tróia came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Itapua AD's Wanderson Pena. But to his dismay, Wanderson Pena quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-3. In the 90th minute Wanderson Pena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claudinho Tróia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 90th match minute, Severo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juarês Brito to maneuver through the defense. Claudinho Tróia came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Itapua AD's Aníbal Mendonça. But to his dismay, Aníbal Mendonça quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-3. When the referee ended the match the Itapua AD players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
