Barborema's Afonso Quintal got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Afonso Quintal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barborema's supporters rose to their feet, but Afonso Quintal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hélio Luz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hélio Luz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilberto Cardozo in the 93rd minute of the match. Barborema's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
