An unexpectedly hard shot by Mário Schmidt in the 13th minute of play forced Barborema's goalkeeper Ander Lokko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ander Lokko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mário Schmidt in the 19th minute of the match. In the 24th minute Sandrinho Zanette shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hélio Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Santanna reached it. Hélio Leão didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Afonso Quintal went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After the first half Barborema were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ismael Gaspar made a kick off. After having played for 96 minutes, Ismael Gaspar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barborema's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ismael Gaspar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match was over Barborema could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Santanna throughout the match.
