Eriberto Campidelis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Barborema booed when Itapua AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulinho de Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute, Eriberto Campidelis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Sandrinho Zanette kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sydney Donatello. That made the score 2-0 in the 29 minute of play. Sydney Donatello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ismael Gaspar in the 32nd minute of the match. Aníbal Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ander Lokko having to interfere. In the 35th minute, Wanderson Pena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 40 minutes into the game, Wanderson Pena cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Ander Lokko was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ander Lokko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aníbal Mendonça in the 47th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wanderson Pena to make the kick off. In the 56th match minute, Itapua AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chico Urbano to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wanderson Pena in the 62nd minute of play forced Barborema's goalkeeper Ander Lokko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 64 minutes into the game, Eriberto Campidelis recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ander Lokko. Eriberto Campidelis showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. 69 minutes into the match, Barborema's goalkeeper Ander Lokko had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eriberto Campidelis. Barborema's Romeu Love quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Carlinhos Castro, made in the 81st minute of the game. After 87 played minutes Barborema got a freekick which was hit by Frank Trancoso. In the 96th match minute, Itapua AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aníbal Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
