With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wilton Rocha in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hélio Luz saved Livramento A.F.C from getting behind. After 9 minutes of play, Maia FC's Wilton Rocha made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hélio Luz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gláuber de Senna's late challenge caught a Maia FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gláuber de Senna helped the player get up and apologised. Gláuber de Senna kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Hermínio França took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hélio Luz. Hélio Luz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Livramento A.F.C's Hélio Luz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermínio França in the 21st minute of play. Tomé Teles took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 23rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hélio Luz. Livramento A.F.C's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ramón Faria charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ramón Faria the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Livramento A.F.C booed when Maia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramón Faria didn't get a good kick on the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Livramento A.F.C's Tião Palmeira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fábio Corrêa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 32 minutes, Alfredão Bueno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maia FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfredão Bueno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hélio Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilton Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 41st minute Tião Palmeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fábio Corrêa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tony Ribeiro hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The Livramento A.F.C players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Maia FC were winning 0-2.
