With an all-out effort, Kings of Leon's Dé Secco threw himself towards the right post 6 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Albertinho Chaves, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Tenente FC's Dé Secco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Tenente FC from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Kings of Leon booed when Tenente FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafa Oliveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute, Juvenal Torres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lúcio Proença recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 14 minutes into the match, Tenente FC's goalkeeper Dé Secco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juvenal Torres. In a very dangerous position, a player in Tenente FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 16th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Kings of Leon a penalty, 18 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Severino de Medeiros, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Tenente FC's Dé Secco. 1-0. Dé Secco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Zanette, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Juvenal Torres could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Dé Secco made a huge save. A collision led to Tenente FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Naldo Andrade hit a great ball. Wigalf Borkowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafa Oliveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Lúcio Proença's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wigalf Borkowski was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Kings of Leon's zone, Lúcio Proença stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wigalf Borkowski came out of the goal and Lúcio Proença tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 41st minute of the match, Hugo Simão got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dé Secco was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Dé Secco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Zanette, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 44 minutes into the match, Tenente FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mauro Zanette came free, but Dé Secco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hugo Simão hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Marco Costa hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Dé Secco made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Juvenal Torres sent off a good shot on target. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mauro Zanette stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Juvenal Torres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dé Secco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Naldo Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Zanette in the 57th minute of play forced Tenente FC's goalkeeper Dé Secco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dé Secco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauro Zanette, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Simão in the 67th minute of play forced Tenente FC's goalkeeper Dé Secco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dé Secco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugo Simão in the 69th minute of play. Mauro Zanette recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dé Secco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo Simão in the 75th minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Juvenal Torres made a precise shot to the right of Dé Secco. Tenente FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Kings of Leon's Wigalf Borkowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adelino de Andrade in the 85th minute of play. After having played for 86 minutes, Rafa Oliveira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tenente FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafa Oliveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rafa Oliveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
