Koray Demirtuğ made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wilian Costa in the 16th minute. Hernani Paulista took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cláudio Vides. Metegelo de Piracicaba FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Clemente Velasco in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cláudio Vides saved Metegelo de Piracicaba FC from getting behind. A collision led to Chaves EC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Hernani Paulista hit a great ball. Clemente Velasco took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cláudio Vides. Cláudio Vides dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Wilian Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Koray Demirtuğ tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wiliam Quadros during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Chaves EC booed when Metegelo de Piracicaba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilian Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clemente Velasco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Clemente Velasco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute of the match, Clemente Velasco tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Cláudio Vides saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With his leg Cláudio Vides managed to avoid a goal in the 58thth minute, when Chaves EC's Clemente Velasco fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Clemente Velasco who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 60thth minute tested the skills of Cláudio Vides when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Koray Demirtuğ showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilian Costa in the 61st minute of the match. Clemente Velasco succeeded in the game's 64th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-3. In the 71st minute, Gildo Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Clemente Velasco in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cláudio Vides prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Clemente Velasco's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 80thth minute, Cláudio Vides skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Clemente Velasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cláudio Vides having to interfere. Gildo Carvalho charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gildo Carvalho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 89th minute, Gildo Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Chaves EC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
