Tião Velasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fábio Lucas having to interfere. 6 minutes into the match, Sao Cristovao's Luciano Fonseca sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carlos Augusto Esteves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 8 played minutes Sao Cristovao got a freekick which was hit by Silvério França. Luiz Fábio Lucas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dalmo Freitas in the 9th minute of play. Silvério França hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Luiz Fábio Lucas acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 12th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Basílio Dantas. 14 minutes into the game, Grêmio Imortal's Tião Velasco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luiz Fábio Lucas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Tião Velascos short, quick shot in the 22ndth minute got Luiz Fábio Lucas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Sao Cristovao's Silvério França got a free kick in the 22nd minute. In the 26th minute Tiago Gabriel Arantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Augusto Esteves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Tiago Gabriel Arantes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute Tiago Gabriel Arantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Augusto Esteves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 41 minutes, Cesinha Paulista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sao Cristovao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cesinha Paulista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Luciano Fonseca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlos Augusto Esteves was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. 47 minutes into the match, Grêmio Imortal's Tião Velasco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luiz Fábio Lucas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Carlos Augusto Esteves came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Sao Cristovao's Luciano Fonseca. But to his dismay, Luciano Fonseca quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tião Velasco to make the kick off. If Tião Velasco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Augusto Esteves was out of position in the 61 minute of play, and Tiago Gabriel Arantes capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tiago Gabriel Arantes really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiago Gabriel Arantes in the 68th minute of play forced Grêmio Imortal's goalkeeper Carlos Augusto Esteves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Sao Cristovao's Tiago Gabriel Arantes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Carlos Augusto Esteves. That made the score 1-3 after 72 minutes of play. Luciano Fonseca in the 76thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Carlos Augusto Esteves, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With a little luck, Grêmio Imortal's Carlos Augusto Esteves got control of the ball when Luciano Fonseca tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sao Cristovao's Luiz Fábio Lucas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tião Velasco in the 81st minute of play. Faustão Corrêa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luiz Fábio Lucas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tião Velasco in the 88th minute of the match. Luciano Fonseca struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Carlos Augusto Esteves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sao Cristovao. Sao Cristovao's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
