An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquim Dracena in the 6th minute of play forced Tabajara FC's goalkeeper Gernando Cerezo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When André Luís Bezerra fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tabajara FC's protests and gave André Luís Bezerra a yellow card for diving instead. In the 7th minute, André Luís Bezerra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gernando Cerezo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquim Dracena in the 8th minute of the match. Gernando Cerezo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Dracena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Rodriguinho Donato kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Falcão Meireles. That made the score 1-0 in the 15 minute of play. In the 26th minute Francisco Siqueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gernando Cerezo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joaquim Dracena in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gernando Cerezo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gernando Cerezo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim Dracena in the 34th minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Tabajara FC's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Dracena came free, but Gernando Cerezo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rodriguinho Donato received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Falcão Meireles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustavo Custódio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Falcão Meireles having to interfere. After 46 played minutes SportClub Laranja Mecanic got a freekick which was hit by Alfredinho Gerber. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joaquim Dracena was the one to do the kick off. Falcão Meireles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodriguinho Donato in the 55th minute of play. After 58 minutes, Luís Eduardo Santos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SportClub Laranja Mecanic and the Tabajara FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to SportClub Laranja Mecanic getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Luís Eduardo Santos hit a great ball. Tabajara FC's Gernando Cerezo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Tabajara FC from getting a goal against them. With his leg Gernando Cerezo managed to avoid a goal in the 74thth minute, when SportClub Laranja Mecanic's Joaquim Dracena fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. SportClub Laranja Mecanic's Falcão Meireles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Custódio in the 79th minute of play. A collision led to SportClub Laranja Mecanic getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Ulysses Magalhães hit a great ball. Joaquim Dracena who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 86thth minute tested the skills of Gernando Cerezo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vicente Baptista got free with Gernando Cerezo in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gernando Cerezo made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Joaquim Dracena sent off a good shot on target. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Tabajara FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while SportClub Laranja Mecanic had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
