Chiquinho Capixaba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dalmo Freitas in the 21st minute of the match. 22 minutes into the game, João Pedro Falcão recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Carlos Augusto Esteves. João Pedro Falcão showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. If João Carlos Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the match, Dudu Vasconcelos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carlos Augusto Esteves. Grêmio Imortal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dudu Vasconcelos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. When Juvenal de Medeiros came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Amanirenas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juvenal de Medeiros couldn't finish the play. In the 46th minute of the match, João Pedro Falcão tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Carlos Augusto Esteves saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Carlos Augusto Esteves made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Dudu Vasconcelos sent off a good shot on target. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tião Velasco to strike the kick off in the second half. Tião Velasco kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dudu Vasconcelos in the 54th minute of play forced Grêmio Imortal's goalkeeper Carlos Augusto Esteves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 62nd minute of the game. One of Amanirenas:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Grêmio Imortal:s goal. Cláudio Freire placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Dalmo Freitas took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Chiquinho Capixaba to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Grêmio Imortal getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Dalmo Freitas hit a great ball. Dudu Vasconcelos scored 3-1 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carlos Augusto Esteves, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Grêmio Imortal's Carlos Augusto Esteves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dudu Vasconcelos in the 88th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dudu Vasconcelos in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Augusto Esteves saved Grêmio Imortal from getting behind. João Pedro Falcão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Augusto Esteves having to interfere. Carlos Augusto Esteves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dudu Vasconcelos, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. When João Pedro Falcão came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Amanirenas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Pedro Falcão couldn't finish the play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Amanirenas fully deserved thier win.
