Válter Moreira came out of the goal and Gilberto Alcântara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thiago FC's Reynaldo Vergílio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juninho Gaspar in the 19th minute of play. After 23 minutes of play, Faisca FC's Antonio Salvidor made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reynaldo Vergílio was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 25th match minute, Thiago FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilberto Alcântara to maneuver through the defense. After 26 minutes of play, Faisca FC's Juninho Gaspar made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reynaldo Vergílio was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 29 played minutes Thiago FC got a freekick which was hit by Gilberto Alcântara. Almir Dantas struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Reynaldo Vergílio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Faisca FC. Antonio Salvidor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Juninho Gaspar struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Reynaldo Vergílio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Faisca FC. Almir Dantas might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Reynaldo Vergílio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Almir Dantas ran back to his position shaking his head. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sílvio Luiz Abreu to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Thiago FC's goalkeeper Reynaldo Vergílio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juninho Gaspar. Virgílio Cearense missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 92 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Reynaldo Vergílio right hand side. In the 97th minute, Faisca FC's Antonio Salvidor ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Reynaldo Vergílio.
