Aílton Bertassi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simão Ramalho having to interfere. After the first half Guaraniaçu PR were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alex Corrêa made a kick off. Victor Trancoso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Reynaldo Vergílio made a huge save. Aílton Bertassi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 72 minutes into the game, Natanael Azevedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Thiago FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guaraniaçu PR the free kick.
