In the 14thth minute of the game Marcinho Veloso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but VASCO DA ROLA's Cláudio Buffon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 20 minutes, Falcão Sergipano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. VASCO DA ROLA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Falcão Sergipano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Marcinho Veloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcinho Veloso in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cláudio Buffon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 30 minutes into the match, Julian Banaszak notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Riograndense FC's Sílvio Luiz Goiano. Sílvio Luiz Goiano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cláudio Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcinho Veloso in the 34th minute of play. In the 35th minute, Michel Sergipano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cláudio Buffon was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. The audience was convinced that Marcinho Veloso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cláudio Buffon was relentless in the 45th minute of the game.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marcinho Veloso to make the kick off. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Marcinho Veloso put it in 2-4 from a short distance just to the right of Cláudio Buffon. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcinho Veloso in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cláudio Buffon saved VASCO DA ROLA from getting behind. Riograndense FC's Marcinho Veloso got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 74th minute by Marcinho Veloso got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 75 minutes into the match, Riograndense FC's Vitório Mineiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cláudio Buffon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in VASCO DA ROLA's zone, Marcinho Veloso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cláudio Buffon came out of the goal and Marcinho Veloso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Vitório Mineiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Riograndense FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vitório Mineiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cláudio Buffon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A hard shot 82 in the game by Marcinho Veloso from a close distance when the talented Cláudio Buffon managed to make a qualified save. VASCO DA ROLA's players were relieved. Cláudio Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcinho Veloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 84th minute, Michel Sergipano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 89 minutes into the match, VASCO DA ROLA's goal looked a bit too open when Marcinho Veloso came free, but Cláudio Buffon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcinho Veloso in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cláudio Buffon saved VASCO DA ROLA from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Marcinho Veloso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cláudio Buffon was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. Falcão Sergipano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sílvio Luiz Goiano having to interfere. Riograndense FC played a much better game than VASCO DA ROLA and deserved their victory. The VASCO DA ROLA players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
