Faisca FC's Válter Moreira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Faisca FC from getting a goal against them. Jean Travassos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Válter Moreira made a huge save. Jean Travassos came free with the goalkeeper in the 16th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Válter Moreira could save by the left post. Edmundo Lira received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Válter Moreira came out and tried to block the shot, but Edmundo Lira slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 17th minute. Juninho Gaspar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of BETIMFC booed when Faisca FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gildo Vaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luiz Eduardo Vander could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Válter Moreira made a huge save. In the 27th minute Luiz Eduardo Vander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Válter Moreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Almir Dantas fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Faisca FC's protests and gave Almir Dantas a yellow card for diving instead. Válter Moreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tião das Neves in the 32nd minute of the match. Faisca FC's Válter Moreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Lira in the 37th minute of play. After 38th play minutes Juninho Gaspar shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Toninho Loureiro and just under the crossbar into goal. After a defensive mix-up in BETIMFC's zone, Juninho Gaspar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Toninho Loureiro came out of the goal and Juninho Gaspar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Válter Moreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Waldir de Medeiros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Eduardo Vander in the 47th minute of play forced Faisca FC's goalkeeper Válter Moreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Juninho Gaspar was the one to do the kick off. Jean Travassos took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Válter Moreira. Válter Moreira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Válter Moreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean Travassos in the 55th minute of the match. Válter Moreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Waldir de Medeiros in the 56th minute of play. Gildo Vaz kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Antonio Salvidor struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Toninho Loureiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Faisca FC. 66 minutes into the match, Faisca FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jean Travassos came free, but Válter Moreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. During the 69th minute of the match Almir Dantas completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Almir Dantas a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Faisca FC's Almir Dantas got a free kick in the 69th minute. Válter Moreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean Travassos, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute.
