A collision led to VASCO DA ROLA getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Wágner de Azevedo hit a great ball. Cláudio Buffon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jarbas Tasso in the 19th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Jarbas Tasso had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cláudio Buffon. VASCO DA ROLA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jarbas Tasso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Tadeu Novaes hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. A collision led to SC ITAJAI getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Sverker Hammarström hit a great ball. With a little luck, VASCO DA ROLA's Cláudio Buffon got control of the ball when Sydney da Mata tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 36th play minute Jarbas Tasso came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Cláudio Buffon. 4-0. Cláudio Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damazy Kostrzewski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cláudio Buffon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Telmo Melo in the 43rd minute of the match. With a little luck, VASCO DA ROLA's Cláudio Buffon got control of the ball when Jarbas Tasso tried to sneak it across the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

But to his dismay, Sydney da Mata quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. VASCO DA ROLA's Cláudio Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damazy Kostrzewski in the 58th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damazy Kostrzewski in the 61st minute of play forced VASCO DA ROLA's goalkeeper Cláudio Buffon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 62 minutes of play, SC ITAJAI's Sydney da Mata made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cláudio Buffon was left in no man's land by his defense there! SC ITAJAI's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
