In the 23rd match minute, BETIMFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Eduardo Vander to maneuver through the defense. Marquinhos de Carvalho's late challenge caught a BETIMFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marquinhos de Carvalho helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of BETIMFC booed when Riograndense FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marquinhos de Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 27 minutes, Dalmo Couto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the BETIMFC and the Riograndense FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dalmo Couto kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. If Vitório Mineiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34thth minute of the game Jean Travassos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Riograndense FC's Anderson Trigo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 37 minutes into the match, BETIMFC's goalkeeper Toninho Loureiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pedro Augusto Vasconcelos. Marquinhos de Carvalho succeeded in the game's 45th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

After 52 minutes of play, Riograndense FC's Vitório Mineiro made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Toninho Loureiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Riograndense FC's Vitório Mineiro got a free kick in the 61st minute. With a little luck, Riograndense FC's Anderson Trigo got control of the ball when Jean Travassos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pedro Augusto Vasconcelos might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Toninho Loureiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pedro Augusto Vasconcelos ran back to his position shaking his head. Toninho Loureiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitório Mineiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Marquinhos de Carvalho might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Toninho Loureiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marquinhos de Carvalho ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 73rd minute of the match Yuri Meira sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Toninho Loureiro skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of BETIMFC booed when Riograndense FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vitório Mineiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Pedro Augusto Vasconcelos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Riograndense FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Augusto Vasconcelos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Toninho Loureiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 81 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Riograndense FC! The crowd rose to their feet as BETIMFC's Edmundo Lira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Anderson Trigo. That made the score 3-2 after 86 minutes of play. Toninho Loureiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pedro Augusto Vasconcelos's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Riograndense FC's Anderson Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Lira in the 97th minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Riograndense FC had played much better football throughout.
