After a defensive mix-up in Cratheus SS's zone, Patrick Cerezo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Doriva Marques came out of the goal and Patrick Cerezo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 22nd play minute Allan Montenegro came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Doriva Marques. 1-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Allan Montenegro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Doriva Marques. That made the score 2-1 in the 25 minute of play. When Romeu Silva fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CA Boca Juniors's protests and gave Romeu Silva a yellow card for diving instead. In the 29th match minute, CA Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romeu Silva to maneuver through the defense. Angelo Correia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Túlio Godoi in the 33rd minute of the match. CA Boca Juniors's Angelo Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cléber Gomes in the 34th minute of play. Edgar Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edgar Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doriva Marques having to interfere. Patrick Cerezo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doriva Marques having to interfere. CA Boca Juniors's Patrick Cerezo got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Patrick Cerezo came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the CA Boca Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patrick Cerezo couldn't finish the play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hélder Donatello to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Allan Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doriva Marques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aníbal Marinho got free with Angelo Correia in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Allan Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 83 minutes, Hélder Donatello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cratheus SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hélder Donatello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Allan Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Edgar Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Virgílio Paraense during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Cratheus SS booed when CA Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Virgílio Paraense didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. CA Boca Juniors had played much better football throughout.
