In the 17thth minute of the game Sílvio Luís Velloso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ballarz's Lenílson Magalhães was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Júlio Zonta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 23 minutes into the match, CA Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Angelo Correia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Júlio Zonta. A wasted opportunity for CA Boca Juniors. 38 minutes into the game, Edgar Gonçalves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CA Boca Juniors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ballarz the free kick. In the 38th match minute, CA Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgar Gonçalves to maneuver through the defense. Ballarz's Lenílson Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sílvio Luís Velloso in the 41st minute of play. Lenílson Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Gonçalves in the 42nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Patrick Cerezo managed to get in a good position for a shot. CA Boca Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Patrick Cerezo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lenílson Magalhães breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Enrique Silveira hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sílvio Luís Velloso to make the kick off. After 50 played minutes Ballarz got a freekick which was hit by Enrique Silveira. The audience thought a goal was coming when Allan Montenegro got free with Lenílson Magalhães in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Angelo Correia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Umberto Félix in the 54th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Sílvio Luís Velloso kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lenílson Magalhães. That made the score 1-3 in the 60 minute of play. When Júlio Zonta fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ballarz's protests and gave Júlio Zonta a yellow card for diving instead. Júlio Zonta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Correia having to interfere. Angelo Correia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrique Silveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. CA Boca Juniors's Allan Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Angelo Correia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Umberto Félix, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique Silveira in the 89th minute of play forced CA Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Angelo Correia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lenílson Magalhães made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Allan Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. CA Boca Juniors had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
