José Paulo Gerber was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lúcio Vides could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Sidnei Pombal made a huge save. 21 minutes into the match, Roma Sc's goalkeeper Sidnei Pombal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Amílton Gaspar. Sidnei Pombal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Carlos de Lima in the 23rd minute of play. Sidnei Pombal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sidnei Galvão, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Sidnei Pombal came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Inhauma FC's Lúcio Vides. But to his dismay, Lúcio Vides quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Roma Sc's Sidnei Pombal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amílton Gaspar in the 30th minute of play. Edgar Souza's late challenge caught a Inhauma FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edgar Souza helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Roma Sc getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Edgar Souza hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ciro de Azevedo got free with Sidnei Pombal in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lúcio Vides received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Sidnei Pombal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 43 minutes into the game, Zé Carlos de Lima recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sidnei Pombal. Zé Carlos de Lima showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serginho Tasso in the 46th minute of play forced Inhauma FC's goalkeeper José Paulo Gerber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Roma Sc's Sidnei Pombal got control of the ball when Lúcio Vides tried to sneak it across the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anselmo Saraiva to make the kick off. A hard shot 57 in the game by Serginho Tasso from a close distance when the talented José Paulo Gerber managed to make a qualified save. Inhauma FC's players were relieved. In the 58th minute, Roma Sc's Edgar Souza dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-2. Sidnei Pombal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lúcio Vides, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. José Paulo Gerber showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Serginho Tasso in the 64th minute of the match. In the 66th minute, Edgar Souza made a precise shot to the right of José Paulo Gerber. Inhauma FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-3. In the 70th minute, Amílton Gaspar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sidnei Pombal was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Serginho Tasso got free with José Paulo Gerber in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 80 minutes into the match, Amílton Gaspar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sidnei Pombal. Roma Sc's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Amílton Gaspar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-3. Inhauma FC's José Paulo Gerber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anselmo Saraiva in the 85th minute of play.
