Vila Nova Prudy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafael Cerezo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rafael Cerezo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cícero Maciel having to interfere. Cícero Maciel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafael Cerezo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cícero Maciel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovânio Travassos in the 92nd minute of play. Luiz Eduardo Romero might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cícero Maciel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luiz Eduardo Romero ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Vila Nova Prudy booed when Racing F. C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roger Motta didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Vila Nova Prudy lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
