Perivaldo Meireles made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Dário Bueno sent off a good shot on target. Perivaldo Meireles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denílson Garcia in the 23rd minute of play. When Reinaldo Nunes fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Taquari United FC's protests and gave Reinaldo Nunes a yellow card for diving instead. With his leg Perivaldo Meireles managed to avoid a goal in the 27thth minute, when Santo André FC's Dário Bueno fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Taquari United FC's Raí Faria got a free kick in the 28th minute. After 30 played minutes Taquari United FC got a freekick which was hit by Raí Faria. After 32 played minutes Santo André FC got a freekick which was hit by Denílson Garcia. Raí Faria charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Raí Faria the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Santo André FC booed when Taquari United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raí Faria didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 36 played minutes, Taquari United FC's Mané Sergipano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Clóvis Talló came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Taquari United FC reached it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reinaldo Nunes in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Clóvis Talló saved Santo André FC from getting behind. When the match clock showed 39 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Reinaldo Nunes sped through Santo André FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Clóvis Talló. In the 44th minute, Dário Bueno ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Perivaldo Meireles was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dário Bueno stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Clóvis Talló came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Taquari United FC's Reinaldo Nunes. But to his dismay, Reinaldo Nunes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Reinaldo Nunes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Clóvis Talló when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 64 minutes, Reinaldo Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Taquari United FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reinaldo Nunes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Clóvis Talló showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonathan Borges in the 70th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Dário Bueno's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Perivaldo Meireles was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Deivid Tasso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Clóvis Talló made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Taquari United FC's Raí Faria slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Clóvis Talló. That made the score 1-3 after 81 minutes of play. Clóvis Talló took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Borges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Through an outstanding action, after 89 minutes, Clóvis Talló successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Denílson Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Perivaldo Meireles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Taquari United FC's zone, Dário Bueno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Perivaldo Meireles came out of the goal and Dário Bueno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Taquari United FC's Perivaldo Meireles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dário Bueno in the 95th minute of play. Taquari United FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
