Baiao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Abade the free kick. Víktor Abraão kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 31st match minute, Baiao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celso de Castro to maneuver through the defense. Eugênio Bueno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cícero Berger having to interfere. Victor Sergipano hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Abade's Cícero Berger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardinho Velloso in the 45th minute of play.

After a defensive mix-up in Abade's zone, Eugênio Bueno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cícero Berger came out of the goal and Eugênio Bueno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abade's Sydney de Lara got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Victor Sergipano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Genílson Sanches did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-3 to the left of a surprised Cícero Berger 67 minutes into the match. If Valdo Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eugênio Bueno could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Cícero Berger made a huge save. Genílson Sanches sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Baiao had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
