In the 13th minute, Genílson Sanches made a precise shot to the right of Perivaldo Meireles. Taquari United FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juninho Vaz in the 18th minute of play forced Baiao's goalkeeper Christian Magalhães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the game, Ricardinho Velloso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Reinaldo Nunes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Taquari United FC booed when Baiao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdo Arce didn't get a good kick on the ball. Baiao's supporters rose to their feet, but Valdo Arce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Perivaldo Meireles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
