Emanuel Meireles's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Reginaldo Amaral firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 9th minute Evandro Cearense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reginaldo Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raúl Tepedino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armandinho Marques in the 11th minute of the match. In the 14th minute, Emanuel Meireles made a precise shot to the right of Reginaldo Amaral. Real Alvinegro FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Real Alvinegro FC's Reginaldo Amaral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Real Alvinegro FC from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Verdadeira getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Evandro Cearense hit a great ball. Dida Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reginaldo Amaral having to interfere. When Osvaldo Perez came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Verdadeira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osvaldo Perez couldn't finish the play. Raúl Tepedino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomé Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Evandro Cearense fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Verdadeira's protests and gave Evandro Cearense a yellow card for diving instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomé Silva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Genílson Pitta threw the ball into play from the sideline. Real Alvinegro FC's Simão Domingues quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Thanks to some nice moves Armandinho Marques could shoot a difficult shot in the 53rd minute, which Raúl Tepedino however easily saved by the left post. Reginaldo Amaral came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by Verdadeira's Dida Cunha. But to his dismay, Dida Cunha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 63rd match minute, Verdadeira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chico Gonçalves to maneuver through the defense. Luiz Fabiano Amorim kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Raúl Tepedino was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Francisco Pinho. After 80 minutes, Vinícius Loyola mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Real Alvinegro FC and the Verdadeira players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 82 played minutes, Verdadeira's Evandro Cearense shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Reginaldo Amaral came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Verdadeira reached it. Reginaldo Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joélson Guimarães in the 86th minute of the match. Reginaldo Amaral was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Verdadeira had won after a very even match.
