Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Christian Machado started the match with the kick off. Chicão Damião charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chicão Damião the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Cachoeiro - FSCMZ booed when Retrô Recife AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chicão Damião didn't get a good kick on the ball. 4 minutes into the match, Retrô Recife AD's goal looked a bit too open when Giovani Massa came free, but Doriva Quadros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Doriva Quadros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Machado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th minute Tião Paes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doriva Quadros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute, Olívio Lara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Christian Machado took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Doriva Quadros. Doriva Quadros dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Cícero Martins's late challenge caught a Retrô Recife AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cícero Martins helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Cachoeiro - FSCMZ's Cícero Martins got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Adelino Paraense could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Adilson Lara made a huge save. In the 35th minute Tião Paes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doriva Quadros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Christian Machado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cachoeiro - FSCMZ's Adilson Lara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Betão Neiva in the 37th minute of play. 39 minutes into the game, Retrô Recife AD's Adelino Paraense nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adilson Lara made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Adelino Paraense could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Adilson Lara made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 45 minutes, Betão Neiva took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Adilson Lara to make any attempt to save it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Bebeto Pinho made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, Adelino Paraense made a precise shot to the right of Adilson Lara. Cachoeiro - FSCMZ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. Adilson Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Betão Neiva in the 61st minute of the match. In the 62nd minute Bebeto Pinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adilson Lara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, Retrô Recife AD's goalkeeper Doriva Quadros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tião Paes. Tião Paes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 94thth minute tested the skills of Doriva Quadros when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
