After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Raimundo Corrêa managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.R. Vasco da Gama's supporters rose to their feet, but Raimundo Corrêa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wiliam Fernandes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 9 minutes into the game, Elói Sergipano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Timão United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.R. Vasco da Gama the free kick. After a rather tough play, Timão United's Elói Sergipano got a free kick in the 9th minute. In the 16th minute, Agostinho Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Przemyslaw Zdeb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Wiliam Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, Timão United's goal looked a bit too open when Przemyslaw Zdeb came free, but Wiliam Fernandes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, C.R. Vasco da Gama's Raimundo Corrêa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wiliam Fernandes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Timão United getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Virgílio Alcântara hit a great ball. After 29 minutes of play, C.R. Vasco da Gama's Pedro Augusto Baptista made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wiliam Fernandes was left in no man's land by his defense there! Wiliam Fernandes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Augusto Baptista in the 32nd minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vito Paraense stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pedro Augusto Baptista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wiliam Fernandes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundo Corrêa in the 58th minute of the match. Pedro Augusto Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Wiliam Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pedro Augusto Baptista in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wiliam Fernandes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Przemyslaw Zdeb who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Wiliam Fernandes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Timão United's Wiliam Fernandes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raimundo Corrêa in the 64th minute of play. After some careless play in the Timão United defense, Przemyslaw Zdeb kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wiliam Fernandes. The Timão United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wiliam Fernandes should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Przemyslaw Zdeb managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.R. Przemyslaw Zdeb fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wiliam Fernandes having to interfere. If Raimundo Corrêa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 97 minutes, Pedro Augusto Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.R. Vasco da Gama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Augusto Baptista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Timão United fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. C.R. Vasco da Gama were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
