Jânio Baiano struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Wiliam Fernandes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marucupari. In the 8th minute Cléberson Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anacleto Abalos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Timão United's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Jânio Baiano 21 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. 25 minutes into the match, Ciro Netto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wiliam Fernandes. Timão United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ciro Netto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. 29 minutes into the game, Marucupari's Jânio Baiano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wiliam Fernandes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. 37 minutes into the match, Timão United's goal looked a bit too open when Jânio Baiano came free, but Wiliam Fernandes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 41st minute, Ciro Netto made a precise shot to the right of Wiliam Fernandes. Timão United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Marucupari's Jânio Baiano slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Wiliam Fernandes. That made the score 5-0 after 45 minutes of play.

If Ciro Netto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Eelco Merenga fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Marucupari's protests and gave Eelco Merenga a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in Timão United's zone, Róbert Sivý stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wiliam Fernandes came out of the goal and Róbert Sivý tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jânio Baiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wiliam Fernandes having to interfere. 6-0 became the score in the 62nd minute when Ciro Netto elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Marucupari's Jânio Baiano got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wiliam Fernandes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Róbert Sivý's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Marucupari's goalkeeper Anacleto Abalos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cléberson Paiva. 74 minutes had been played when some careless play by Marucupari's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edgard Rosado was slow to take the kick. During this time Timão United's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Edgard Rosado almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Marucupari's Anacleto Abalos did a great save. When Ciro Netto came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Marucupari fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ciro Netto couldn't finish the play. Wiliam Fernandes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciro Netto, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After some careless play in the Timão United defense, Róbert Sivý kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wiliam Fernandes. The Timão United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wiliam Fernandes should have stopped the shot. 91 minutes into the game, one of Timão United:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The supporters of Timão United booed when Marucupari was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Róbert Sivý didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee ended the match the Marucupari players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
