Guga Lira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 16th match minute, Jacuarana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vinícius Marquez to maneuver through the defense. Alessandro Perez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Jacuarana booed when Ubiratan Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilberto Salomone didn't get a good kick on the ball. Giovanni Damião's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Guga Lira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alessandro Perez to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Giovanni Damião's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guga Lira was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. 56 minutes into the game, Gilberto Salomone cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hílton de Sousa was out of position in the 78 minute of play, and Edgar Sarmento capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Edgar Sarmento really showed his touch with that goal: 4-1. Guga Lira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Giovanni Damião's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. In the 85th match minute, Ubiratan Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tarcisio de Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. 86 minutes into the game, Alberto Pontes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Hílton de Sousa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gilberto Salomone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jacuarana's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
