Jorge Coutinho went to the wrong direction when João Francisco Recife was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Ezequiel Alves didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luiz Paulo Leme went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Ezequiel Alves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rene Dabi in the 18th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sílvio Luiz de Queirós during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Gwaan Rude Association getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Sílvio Luiz de Queirós hit a great ball. With his leg Jorge Coutinho managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when Gwaan Rude Association's Gonçalo Corrêa fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Gwaan Rude Association were awarded a corner in the 27th minute after Cruzeiro mineiro's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. João Francisco Recife took the corner. A nice corner shot did that João Francisco Recife got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jorge Coutinho quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 30th match minute, Gwaan Rude Association was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Francisco Recife to maneuver through the defense. Gonçalo Corrêa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Coutinho having to interfere. When Sílvio Luiz de Queirós was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 44 minutes had been played. The supporters of Cruzeiro mineiro booed when Gwaan Rude Association was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sílvio Luiz de Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gwaan Rude Association's Ezequiel Alves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Paulo Leme in the 46th minute of play. Henrique Severo struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Jorge Coutinho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gwaan Rude Association. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vânderson Freire was the one to do the kick off. Gwaan Rude Association's Ezequiel Alves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Gwaan Rude Association from getting a goal against them. With an all-out effort, Cruzeiro mineiro's Ezequiel Alves threw himself towards the right post 55 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luiz Paulo Leme, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 55th minute, Gwaan Rude Association's Yuri de Medeiros seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Yuri de Medeiros the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Gwaan Rude Association protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Yuri de Medeiros had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 54 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Gwaan Rude Association! The goalkeeper, Ezequiel Alves, was totally fooled by Cruzeiro mineiro's Vânderson Freire, who 57 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Ezequiel Alves made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luiz Paulo Leme in the 60th minute. In the 66th match minute, Gwaan Rude Association was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramón Rezende to maneuver through the defense. Ezequiel Alves didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rene Dabi went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Rene Dabi's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ezequiel Alves firmly grabbed it by the left post. Rene Dabi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Ezequiel Alves made a huge save. Henrique Severo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Coutinho having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Gwaan Rude Association's zone, Vânderson Freire stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ezequiel Alves came out of the goal and Vânderson Freire tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ezequiel Alves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Paulo Leme in the 88th minute of the match. After having played for 91 minutes, Matheus Leite managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gwaan Rude Association's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matheus Leite was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Henrique Severo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Cruzeiro mineiro's Silvinho Tróia got a free kick in the 95th minute. After a rather tough play, Gwaan Rude Association's João Francisco Recife got a free kick in the 97th minute. When the match was over Cruzeiro mineiro could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Gwaan Rude Association throughout the match.
