Macaé Esporte FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gualter Paiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodolfo Matos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cido Terra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gualter Paiva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rodolfo Matos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Alieninjas's zone, Cido Terra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodolfo Matos came out of the goal and Cido Terra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 15 played minutes Alieninjas got a freekick which was hit by Fabrício Guedes. Ricardo Mandrak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cléber Macedo in the 20th minute of play. The supporters of Alieninjas booed when Macaé Esporte FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelo Custódio didn't get a good kick on the ball. 25 minutes in the game, Cléber Macedo fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ricardo Mandrak having to interfere. Macaé Esporte FC's Ricardo Mandrak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cléber Macedo in the 26th minute of play. Rodolfo Matos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gualter Paiva in the 29th minute of play. If Gualter Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute of the match Bernardo Breckenfeld sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rodolfo Matos skillfully saved the ball. Cléber Macedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Ricardo Mandrak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rodolfo Matos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cido Terra in the 40th minute of the match. The supporters of Alieninjas booed when Macaé Esporte FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrianinho Goiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rodolfo Matos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gualter Paiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Macaé Esporte FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gualter Paiva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Macaé Esporte FC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Gualter Paiva hit a great ball. If Cléber Macedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Macaé Esporte FC's Gualter Paiva got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Alieninjas's Rodolfo Matos got control of the ball when Cido Terra tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cido Terra got free with Rodolfo Matos in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 75th minute, Cléber Macedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Alieninjas's Rodolfo Matos got control of the ball when Cido Terra tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 84th minute Gualter Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodolfo Matos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gualter Paiva in the 91st minute of play forced Alieninjas's goalkeeper Rodolfo Matos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Fabrício Guedes fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Alieninjas's protests and gave Fabrício Guedes a yellow card for diving instead. Fabrício Guedes hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match.
