The Fluviopolis fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. 23 minutes into the match, DMR Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Cesinha de Queirós had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wilton Fonseca. Anderson Salles was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 25th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Mazinho Jacinto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fluviopolis's supporters rose to their feet, but Mazinho Jacinto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cesinha de Queirós breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 42nd minute, Jeremias Toscano had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Anderson Salles's late challenge caught a DMR Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
